Software Development Engineer for Amazon Web Services (AWS)

AWS Platform is hiring in Arlington, Herndon, NYC, and Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, and Renton! AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider–from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of software development experience and a bachelor's or master's degree (or higher) in computer science or a related discipline.
• Fluency and experience in one or more of the following: Java, Ruby, or Python.
• 3+ years experience in object-oriented design and development.
• 3+ years experience in distributed systems and web services design.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Preferred qualifications

• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and analysis.
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Distributed systems and web services design and implementation experience.
