National Sales Director, Target & Beauty (Sun Bum & COOLA)

Our Cocoa Beach office is an old Florida beach house off A1A. Our Moonlight Beach office is in the groovy little town of Encinitas, California, just a block away from the sand. We make products the way we like them, and we hope you like them too. Summary for Sun Bum and COOLA:

  • Lead all Customer and Broker management activities nationally managing Target (largest account for Sun Bum) and Ulta (largest account for COOLA) and Ulta Beauty @ Target for COOLA
  • Grow collective $65M businesses through long range planning and relationship building
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams at both headquarters to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and collaborate with the internal teams at both headquarters to drive positive business impacts through improved, higher productivity assortments.
  • Be the voice of the customer to educate internal teams at both headquarters on key strategic initiatives and the voice for both brands, holding customers accountable to execute mutually agreed upon plans
  • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers at all accounts.

Essential Duties for Sun Bum and COOLA:

  • Ownership of running both brands’ businesses independently from each other in the Beauty Channel
  • Consistently achieve sales goals profitability while operating within budgetary constraints to contribute to the overall profitability of both companies
  • Partner with customers to develop and execute promotional programs.
  • Lead and communicate the overall account strategy and own the outcome for internal and external customer meetings.
  • Gather and communicate competitive factors/insights impacting the business (i.e. new competitive items, competitive promotions, etc.)

Responsibilities for Sun Bum and COOLA:

  • Effectively manage expenses, budgets and promotional activity associated with sales.
  • Lead, manage and mentor sales broker representatives
  • Plan and attend customer events, promotions, and trade shows with ownership of Ulta FLC
  • Develop seasonal Go-to-Market plans that drive impact at the point of sale increasing revenue and profitability.
  • Coordinate and attend internal sales meetings at both headquarters to review current customer activity, review services and encourage performance and sales growth.
  • Hold broker teams accountable for delivering the highest level of service possible.
  • Partner with internal teams at both headquarters to own inventory management including sales forecasts, demand planning, and minimization of markdowns and returns
  • Analyze historical sales data and market trends to develop accurate sales forecasts for all accounts
  • Support training and coaching of Beauty Consultants on brand education, and guest engagement
  • Accurate execution of omnichannel visual merchandising standards

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • 8+ years in CPG Sales Leadership roles
  • 5+ years managing Target at the HQ level.
  • Successful track record of delivering exceptional sales results.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with people across all levels and functional areas at multiple brands.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to work under moving deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and BI
  • Demonstrate ability to think strategically and drive execution vs. goals.
  • Account sales management for a seasonal and/or personal care brand.
  • Proven forecasting experience with a seasonal and/or personal care brand

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Familiarity with Target JBP negotiations
  • Understanding of Beauty channel / Ulta

Job Requirements & Compensation:

  • Full Time
  • 50% travel
  • $142,480-$187,005 is the salary range for this position. It represents a portion of the overall package, and includes flexibility based on the candidate's qualifications.
