PURCHASING BUYER – TCS COMPONENTS SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – WORLD HEADQUARTERS Responsible for all purchasing pre and post launch activity focusing on the program team, supplier and customer requirements integrating data/quote management, contract negotiations, tool timing, CR/CN process flow, Profile management, complete launch readiness, etc. The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to: Direct commodity buying responsibility as well as directly providing leadership within the group Extensive work experience and judgment required to plan and accomplish strategic goals Negotiates long term agreements and yearly savings in line with expectations Develops commodity strategies to achieve results Understanding of commercial terms and total cost management concepts required Advantages of working at Lear in the Purchasing group: Cross functional interaction and ability to work with hardworking, team focused individuals Hybrid working environment

Responsibilities

  • Direct commodity buying responsibility as well as directly providing leadership within the group

  • Negotiates long term agreements and yearly savings in line with expectations
  • Develops commodity strategies to achieve results
  • Understanding of commercial terms and total cost management concepts required

Requirements

  • Extensive work experience, discipline, and independence to drive successful closure of Purchasing goals
  • Strong negotiating principles and skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of commodity or relevant purchasing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to align with and influence internal program teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Ensures accurate data management to meet program timelines
  • Familiarity with commercial terms and performance‑to‑target concepts
  • Results‑driven and proactive approach from program inception through launch
  • Communication verbal and written and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lead within a team
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • High level of integrity
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Priority setting and time‑management excellence
  • Action‑oriented and produces results
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly productive, fast‑changing environment

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA
  • Automotive cross-functional experience is recommended
  • Experience with Electronic and Thermo Comfort commodity
  • Previous SAP ERP experience
