Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Insurance Underwriter to join their fully remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing insurance risks, ensuring profitability and compliance with company guidelines. You will work remotely from your home office, collaborating with agents, brokers, and internal teams to assess applications, analyze data, and make sound underwriting decisions. Your expertise will be vital in developing and implementing underwriting policies and procedures, mentoring junior underwriters, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the underwriting department. This position demands a thorough understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements. You will conduct in-depth risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and determine appropriate coverage levels and premiums. Collaborate with sales teams, agents, and brokers to provide expert underwriting advice and support. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging risks. Analyze financial statements, loss history, and other relevant data to make informed underwriting decisions. Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and initiatives. Review and approve complex or unusual risks that fall outside standard underwriting authority. Monitor portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation. Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced designations such as CPCU are highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in insurance underwriting, with a proven track record of success. Demonstrated leadership experience or strong potential for leadership within an underwriting team. In-depth knowledge of various insurance products (e.g., commercial lines, personal lines) and their associated risks. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, effective in a remote setting. Proficiency in underwriting software and standard office applications. Ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and meet demanding deadlines. Experience with data analysis and risk modeling tools is a plus. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
