Job Description:

Execute monthly close processes, ensuring all costs are recorded or accrued and revenue is recognized accurately
Maintain general ledger integrity through timely journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including tracking outstanding items and recording fees and interest
Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and customer deposits
Oversee accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors and subcontractors
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term partnerships
Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of all accounting deliverables and client-facing outputs
Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, issues, and escalations
Partner with the Accounting Manager and/or Director of Finance, as applicable, to review work in progress (WIP), ensuring contract values, budgets, and change orders are accurately reflected
Validate revenue recognition aligns with percentage-of-completion (POC), including cost and billing accuracy
Maintain confidentiality of financial data and company information
Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
4–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required
Experience with commercial construction accounting required
Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles
Familiarity with tools such as Sage, BlueFolder, or similar construction/accounting software is a plus
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
