Do you have experience managing digital content and implementing strategies for efficient access? If so, Harvard University's Office of the University Archivist is seeking an Associate University Archivist for Content Management and Access to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in preserving and providing access to our university's rich history, ensuring that our collections are accessible to students, researchers, and the general public. As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials and collaborate with other archivists and researchers to promote the use of our collections. Manage and oversee the organization and preservation of historical records and materials belonging to Harvard University. Develop and implement strategies for efficient access to digital content, including creating and maintaining finding aids and digital collections. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of metadata and descriptive information for all materials in the collection. Collaborate with other archivists and researchers to promote the use and accessibility of the university's collections. Monitor and maintain the security and confidentiality of sensitive materials in compliance with university policies and procedures. Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging technologies in archival content management and access. Train and supervise staff and volunteers in collection management and access procedures. Assist with the acquisition and appraisal of new materials for the university's collections. Plan and participate in outreach and educational programs to promote the use of the university's collections. Support the development and maintenance of the university's archival policies and procedures. Contribute to the development and implementation of digitization initiatives for the university's collections. Maintain accurate records and reports on the status and usage of the university's collections. Communicate and collaborate with other departments and institutions to facilitate access to materials and promote the university's collections. Represent the university at conferences, workshops, and other professional events related to archival content management and access. Harvard University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
