Part-Time Accounts Payable & Accounting Associate (Remote) Location: 100% Remote Schedule: Part-time (approximately 25 -30 hours per week to start) Compensation: $25/hour (based on experience) Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

About the Role

We’re hiring a Part-Time Accounts Payable & Accounting Associate to help keep our financial operations running smoothly in a fully remote, flexible environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys meaningful, detail-oriented work but prefers a part-time schedule. You’ll primarily support accounts payable and core accounting functions, while also having opportunities to contribute to process improvements and special projects as our company grows. This role will start at approximately 25 - 30 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 30–35 hours per week over time based on business needs and your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate accounts payable records
• Communicate with vendors to resolve questions or discrepancies
• Assist with check runs, ACH payments, and payment tracking
• Perform account reconciliations (AP, credit cards, and other assigned accounts)
• Support month-end close activities
• Assist with billing and other general accounting tasks
• Document accounting processes and help improve workflows
• Participate in cross-training to support team coverage and continuity
• Support ad hoc finance and accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• 2–3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or a related role
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication skills for vendor and internal coordination

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar accounting software
• Broader accounting experience beyond accounts payable
• Experience in staffing, healthcare, education, or service-based industries

Schedule & Work Environment

• 100% remote position
• Flexible hours based on business needs and your availability
• Candidates should have some overlap with standard U.S. business hours
• Approximately 25 hours per week initially, with potential to grow
