Safety Inspector - Pipeline

SUMMARY As a Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations within our pipeline operations. Your primary goal will be to identify and prevent potential hazards, ensuring the safety of our employees and the environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Perform regular inspections and audits of pipeline facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Identify and document potential hazards and safety risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Conduct safety meetings and trainings, educating employees on best practices and safety procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports related to safety inspections and incidents
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety regulations, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, recommending enhancements when needed
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety issues and concerns
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability within the organization

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a Safety Inspector or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to pipeline operations
  • Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Professional certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional
  • Experience conducting safety inspections and audits specifically in pipeline operations
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • OSHA 500/501 preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to pipeline operations
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
