The Role

As a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Data Entry Technician at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the entry and processing of medication orders into our pharmacy operating system, processing and entering prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner, and performing medication history interviews, food-drug interaction counseling, and processing prescriptions following all prescription error prevention procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Enter and process medication orders into the pharmacy operating system

  • Process and enter prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform medication history interviews, food-drug interaction counseling, and processing prescriptions following all prescription error prevention procedures
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses
  • Protect sensitive information by not inappropriately accessing or distributing PHI (Personal Health information)
  • Refer prescriptions questions to Pharmacist/Supervisor
  • Maintain patient records with a strong attention to detail
  • Verify the accuracy of patient and prescription information
  • Perform duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of arenaflex, including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes in work situations with clients, peers, and visitors

Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to read prescriptions, SIG codes, to document information on prescriptions, third-party forms, inter-office order forms, and communication forms

  • Learn and retain information, including product names and locations, as well as drug usages, instructions (SIG Codes)
  • Enter and retrieve data from the various operating systems employed in prescription processing and drug ordering and packaging
  • Service-oriented with a high degree of interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates appropriate written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, associates, clients, and public
  • Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
  • Must display dependability, possess a strong work ethic, and have reliable attendance
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required

Education and Experience:

* All employees must complete required employer orientation and ongoing training needs as directed by pharmacy

  • Must be a fully licensed technician in the State of Indiana
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) license required

Work Environment and Culture:

* This is a remote work opportunity, and you can be located anywhere in the continental US

  • Shift Options: Tuesday - Saturday (12:30 PM- 9:00 PM CST Tues-F; 7:00AM-3:30PM CST S) and Sunday - Thursday (12:30 PM -9:00 PM CST M-Thurs; 7:00AM-3:30PM CST Sun)

Compensation and Benefits:

* Base Hourly Minimum: $17

  • Base Hourly Maximum: $20
