Overview

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for managing and expanding established accounts within the Midwest region. This role is accountable for revenue growth, customer retention, and identifying new business opportunities within an assigned territory. The position focuses on developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, strategic account planning, and collaboration across internal teams. Strong analytical capability and effective communication skills are required. Experience in the medical device industry is required. Experience in metals or aerospace manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory. Pay Range - $80,000–$100,000 annual base salary, plus uncapped commission.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing accounts through regular communication, on‑site visits, and proactive relationship development. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance metrics. Conduct customer needs assessments, quarterly business reviews, and market analysis to support strategic account planning. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and product information to customers and prospective clients. Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools to support revenue planning and leadership reporting. Analyze sales data using Excel and other reporting tools to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities. Collaborate with internal departments, including Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, and Leadership, to ensure customer requirements are met and issues are resolved in a timely manner. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive activity, and product capabilities. Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the medical device industry or a related regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with consultative selling or solution‑based sales approaches. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis, and experience using CRM systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in metals, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries. Experience working in or selling into technical or manufacturing environments involving detailed technical specifications. Experience selling into regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or defense. Experience with sales forecasting, sales analytics, and data‑driven decision making. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated success in territory management, account growth, and new business development. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence customer decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in fully remote work environment. Ability to report to the San Diego office/headquarters at least twice per year, or as business needs require. Work environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with periodic visits to the manufacturing floor. Minimal exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, and electrolytes. Professional environment requiring business casual attire. Overnight domestic travel throughout the Midwest region is required, up to approximately 50 percent of the time.
