Director of Strategic Initiatives and Impact DEPARTMENT: Strategic Initiatives and Impact LOCATION: Remote Position REPORTS TO: Director of Strategic Initiatives and Impact The Center for Third World Organizing is a racial justice organization dedicated to building social justice movements led by people of color. We were established in 1980 as a training and resource center that promotes and sustains direct-action organizing in communities of color in the United States. We believe in creating a pipeline of organizers that are equipped with both the fundamentals of organizing as well as new, innovative and creative tactics & strategies. We believe that those historically marginalized should lead this fight. CTWO’s Strategic Initiatives and Impact Department comprises the Development Team and Communications Team. Teams work jointly to bolster CTWO Hub’s brand and reach, track organizational impact, and fundraise on behalf of the full CTWO Hub. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supervision (10%) Collaborative Leadership: You'll oversee the strategic initiatives and impact departments which comprise the development and communication teams. Cross-team coordination: Lead coordination between the internal and external teams to ensure smooth fundraising and communications operations. Department Lead: Lead weekly SII department meetings. 2. Fundraising Strategy and Foundation Relationships (50%) Fundraising Strategy: In partnership with the Executive Director, fundraising strategy will be developed and managed. As Lead, Work alongside with the development team, to fulfill organizational strategy for fundraising goals. Foundation Relationships: Work closely with external partners (Foundations, large and major donors) to new secure funds, lead and maintain foundation relationships and cultivate new ones. Grant Management: Lead grant writing; edit and approve grants from Development Manager. System Improvements: Continuously assess and improve fundraising and communication systems, researching and implementing new tools as necessary. Legal Compliance: Ensure that all grants and communication activities comply with applicable legal regulations. 3. Communications (30%) Hub Narrative: You'll work in partnership with the communications manager on developing the organization's narrative strategy. Newsletter: Work in tandem with the communications department to review, edit and approve content for the organization's quarterly newsletter. Communications and Fundraising Campaigns: Work in partnership with the SII department to inform and approve content for all organization campaigns. Fiscally Sponsored Project Relationships: Collaborate with the Operations Manager in addressing donor related concerns and questions with fiscally sponsored projects. 4. Organization-wide Responsibilities (10%) Organizational Engagement: Participate in the broader culture of the organization, including staff meetings, retreats, political education, and fundraising. Ad hoc duties to be assigned COMPENSATION CTWO offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive, progressive benefits program to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing and dedicated workforce. The salary range for this position is full-time $85,000-$95,000 a year. This is a 32-hours per week position.
