Role Description This full-time remote 7–12 Special Education Teacher role focuses on providing specially designed instruction to students with diverse learning needs in middle and high school grades. The teacher will develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring that goals and accommodations are aligned with state standards and student strengths. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering virtual lessons, adapting curriculum and assessments, and using data to inform instruction and progress monitoring. The teacher will collaborate regularly with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support inclusive practices and student success. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP meetings, and engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and online learning.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Special Education and Disabilities, including IEP development, accommodations, and behavior support strategies.
  • Strong Teaching skills with experience in Middle School and high school grades (7–12), preferably in a virtual or blended setting.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and support staff in a remote environment.
  • Valid state teaching certification or licensure in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain), with appropriate 7–12 endorsements as required.
  • Experience using online learning platforms, digital tools, and data systems to deliver instruction and track student progress.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degree in education or special education is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines independently.
