Senior Agronomist, Precision Agriculture

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Agronomist specializing in Precision Agriculture to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical in driving sustainable and efficient farming practices through the application of advanced technology and data analytics. You will work closely with farmers and agricultural businesses to optimize crop production, resource management, and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement precision agriculture strategies, including soil sampling, variable rate application (VRA) of fertilizers and pesticides, and crop monitoring. Analyze data from various sources such as satellite imagery, drone data, soil sensors, and yield monitors to provide actionable insights. Advise growers on best practices for crop management, nutrient management, pest and disease control, and irrigation. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for precision agriculture. Conduct field trials and research to assess the effectiveness of different management practices. Develop training materials and conduct workshops for farmers and agricultural professionals on precision agriculture techniques. Collaborate with R&D teams to contribute to the development of new agricultural solutions. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable farming practices. Manage client relationships and provide ongoing technical support. Stay updated on the latest advancements in agronomy, soil science, and agricultural technology. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field. A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in agronomy, with a strong focus on precision agriculture technologies and data analysis, is required. Proficiency with GIS software, farm management software, and data analysis tools is essential. Excellent understanding of crop physiology, soil science, entomology, and plant pathology is necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical for interpreting data and providing effective recommendations. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a remote work environment is paramount.
