Our client, a leading telecommunications provider in Kansas City, Missouri, US , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Architect to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures. This fully remote role requires a deep understanding of current and emerging network technologies, including IP networking, MPLS, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and cybersecurity. The Senior Network Architect will be responsible for developing network strategies, creating detailed network designs, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the company's network services. You will collaborate with various teams, including operations, engineering, and business units, to translate business requirements into robust network solutions. Key responsibilities include capacity planning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting complex network issues, and developing network security policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of designing and deploying large-scale, high-performance networks. Experience with major network vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is essential. You should also have a comprehensive understanding of network security principles and best practices. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work independently and lead technical initiatives within a distributed team. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture, and relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE). Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement scalable and resilient network architectures. Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions. Create detailed network design documents, including diagrams, configurations, and specifications. Ensure network infrastructure meets performance, availability, and security requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define network requirements and solutions. Oversee network implementation, testing, and rollout activities. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex network issues. Develop and maintain network security policies, standards, and procedures. Conduct capacity planning and performance monitoring to optimize network operations. Mentor junior network engineers and share technical expertise. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a significant focus on network architecture. Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SD-WAN technologies. Experience designing and managing networks in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista). Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE) are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
