Pricing Analyst
BC Ferries is looking for a Pricing Analyst to join their Revenue Management team. The role involves managing pricing and inventory decisions to optimize revenue and customer experience, analyzing demand trends, and collaborating with various teams to enhance pricing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Managing pricing and inventory decisions at the sailing level to optimize revenue and customer experience
- Developing and executing pricing and inventory strategies aligned with seasonal demand, booking patterns, and business objectives
- Analyzing demand trends and customer behavior across vehicle and passenger segments to inform forecasts and pricing actions
- Monitoring performance and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to improve revenue outcomes
- Partnering with teams across the organization (Fleet Deployment, Scheduling, Marketing, BI, Operations) to align on demand, capacity, and strategy
- Building and maintaining reports and dashboards to support decision-making and communicate performance to leadership
- Executing and validating pricing changes across systems to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved strategies
- Contributing to forecasting and revenue management processes, including testing, experimentation, and continuous improvement
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and analytics to enhance overall pricing effectiveness
Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in an analytical or data-focused role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into insights and actions
- Experience working with Excel and data analysis tools; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms is an asset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present insights clearly
- Curiosity and a willingness to experiment, learn, and improve processes
- Exposure to forecasting, pricing, or revenue management concepts is an advantage
