The State of Wisconsin's Department of Corrections is dedicated to public safety and is seeking a Financial Specialist for the Marshall E. Sherrer Correctional Center. This role involves administrative and program-related support, including purchasing, auditing resident accounts, and providing administrative assistance to center staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a combination of administrative and program related support to the Center Superintendent and other administrative staff at the Marshall Sherrer Correctional Center (MSCC)
  • Responsible for purchasing, management and knowledge of technical support, approving/denying persons in our care (resident) disbursement requests, auditing resident accounts, resident payroll, records and inventory management, background checks and providing administrative assistance to center staff
  • Overall duties allow have delegated authority for limited decision-making and relieve the Superintendent from administrative processes

Skills

  • Data gathering, entry, and financial reports
  • Basic computer experience, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email
  • Working with records and forms
  • Basic math, cash handling, and customer service
