Staff Accountant

Wheels Up is a global leader in on-demand private aviation, committed to providing a premium, personalized aviation experience. The Staff Accountant will assist with operational accounting processes, support cash management, prepare journal entries, and collaborate with the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the cash management process including facilitating payments, providing daily balance updates to leadership and matching transactions within NetSuite
  • Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries
  • Support the month- and quarter-end accounting close process including analysis of results, resolution of differences and communication of unusual variances
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with finance team members as well as cross functional departments
  • Support the internal and external audit processes including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation
  • Facilitate ad hoc data requests, deliverables and other controllership deadlines

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and contribute to a high-performing accounting and finance team
  • Proven ability to work independently, execute well and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented team player with a strong work ethic
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with other ERP systems, nice to have (e.g., Hyperion, SAP)
  • Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar platforms
  • Self-motivated with a strong “get-up-and-go” attitude and ability to take initiative
  • Willingness to jump in and support team priorities as needed in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot effectively when priorities shift
