Dual Credit Adjunct

Position Summary The Dual Credit Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality college-level instruction to eligible high school students enrolled in dual credit courses. This position supports student success by maintaining rigorous academic standards, fostering engagement, and ensuring alignment with institutional curriculum and accreditation requirements. Courses may be taught on a high school campus, college campus, online, or in a hybrid format. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned dual credit courses in accordance with approved college curriculum, syllabi, learning outcomes, and academic policies.
  • Maintain appropriate academic rigor consistent with college-level expectations.
  • Develop and deliver engaging instruction that promotes student learning and success.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and participation.
  • Submit grades, attendance, and required reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, high school partners, department leadership, and college administration as needed.
  • Utilize the institution’s learning management system and instructional technologies.
  • Adhere to all institutional policies, FERPA requirements, and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Participate in orientation, training, and meetings as requested.
  • Support student retention, persistence, and academic integrity.
  • Maintain required credentials and documentation for accreditation compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students, parents, faculty, and school district personnel.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
  • Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching dual credit or early college students.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with SACSCOC or other regional accreditation faculty credentialing standards.
  • Secondary education teaching experience or partnership experience with school districts.

Work Environment

  • Courses may be taught at partner high schools, on campus, or online.
  • Evening or daytime teaching assignments may be available depending on scheduling needs.
  • Travel to partner sites may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and virtual settings.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during instruction.
  • Ability to operate standard classroom and computer equipment.

Compensation

Compensation is based on course load, credentials, experience, and institutional adjunct pay schedules. Additional Information Adjunct appointments are part-time, term-based, and contingent upon enrollment, program needs, and successful completion of credentialing requirements.
