Our client is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Lead Estimator to join their growing team in

. This hybrid position requires a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work, offering a dynamic work environment. As the Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of commercial construction projects. You will lead the estimating team, develop bidding strategies, and work closely with project managers and executives to secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of construction means and methods, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex bidding processes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual stages through final bid. Lead and mentor the estimating team, assigning tasks and reviewing work for accuracy and completeness. Analyze bid documents, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. Develop unit costs, takeoffs, and quantity surveys for all project disciplines. Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals. Develop and present bid strategies and recommendations to senior management. Collaborate with Project Managers, Pre-construction teams, and Executives to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Maintain a database of historical cost data, labor rates, and material pricing. Identify potential risks and opportunities related to project scope, schedule, and budget. Perform site visits as required to understand project conditions and scope. Stay current with industry trends, new construction technologies, and material costs. Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial projects. Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory estimating role. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, HCSS, Bluebeam Revu) and take-off tools. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials across various trades. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
