In today’s fast‑moving market, customers in the Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) sector face unique challenges: massive data volumes, stringent regulatory requirements, and the need for rapid, accurate insights. As a Customer Engineer – AI/ML, you will be the technical bridge between arenaflex’s advanced cloud services and the strategic goals of our HCLS clients. You will help them unlock the power of machine learning, design scalable architectures, and adopt arenaflex’s specialized AI hardware, ensuring they stay ahead of the competition while delivering better outcomes for patients and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Opportunity Identification: Partner with Technical Sales teams to uncover and qualify high‑impact business opportunities, translating customer pain points into technical solutions.
  • Technical Advisory & Thought Leadership: Serve as the go‑to AI/ML subject matter expert for HCLS customers, delivering product briefings, proof‑of‑concept (PoC) demonstrations, and architecture workshops.
  • Solution Design & Prototyping: Collaborate with customers to design, prototype, and validate end‑to‑end machine‑learning pipelines on arenaflex Cloud, leveraging services such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, and arenaflex’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) hardware.
  • Roadblock Resolution: Anticipate and address technical objections, providing clear, data‑driven recommendations that remove adoption barriers.
  • Product Feedback Loop: Work closely with arenaflex product management and engineering teams to relay customer insights, influencing roadmap priorities and feature enhancements.
  • Integration & Architecture Guidance: Recommend best‑practice integration strategies, enterprise‑grade architectures, and security frameworks tailored to the regulatory landscape of HCLS.
  • Travel & Advocacy: Represent arenaflex at customer sites, industry conferences, and internal events, championing the value of AI/ML in healthcare and life sciences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a pre‑sales engineer, solutions architect, or a comparable customer‑facing technical role within an enterprise technology environment.
  • Proven ability to engage and present to both technical stakeholders (e.g., data scientists, architects) and executive leadership (e.g., CIOs, VPs).
  • Hands‑on experience with big data ecosystems, machine‑learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit‑learn), and numerical programming languages (Python, MATLAB, R).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of building production‑grade machine‑learning solutions, including deep‑learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs) and model deployment pipelines.
  • Experience architecting scalable, distributed systems on cloud platforms, with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data‑lake design, and big‑data trends (e.g., data‑mesh, real‑time analytics) within regulated industries.
  • Rapid learning aptitude for emerging technologies, cloud‑native methodologies, and evolving AI/ML best practices.

  • Technical Acumen: Mastery of cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and serverless services.
  • AI/ML Expertise: Ability to design, train, and optimize models, understand hyper‑parameter tuning, and evaluate model performance metrics.
  • Communication: Exceptional storytelling ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for diverse audiences.
  • Problem‑Solving: Analytical mindset to diagnose performance bottlenecks, security concerns, and integration challenges.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, comfortable working across sales, product, engineering, and customer success teams.
  • Regulatory Insight: Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, and other compliance frameworks relevant to HCLS data.
