Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert design support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Develop, update, and maintain aircraft and component design manuals within your area of responsibility, incorporating the latest technical data and best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions for engineers and technicians in specialized skill areas, acting as a subject‑matter expert and mentor.
  • Serve as a technical lead or facilitator on project teams, guiding project managers and stakeholders toward successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, vendors, and internal specialists to validate design processes and ensure alignment with material specifications and arenaflex policies.
  • Create innovative procedures and detailed work instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance activities not covered by existing manuals.
  • Stay current on daily operational activities, monitoring aircraft performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement in line with departmental goals.
  • Analyze aircraft or component issues that could cause delays, excessive labor, or material waste, and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Provide timely design assistance during abnormal situations, helping restore aircraft or component status to operational readiness.
  • Respond to requests from Maintenance and other operational divisions for specialized support, ensuring rapid resolution of technical challenges.
  • Develop work plans for fleet‑wide and multi‑fleet design projects, aligning resources with evaluated needs and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with other aircraft divisions to enable efficient execution of design processes and promote cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Maintain comprehensive design documentation, delivering revised procedures that meet aircraft, departmental, and management requirements.
  • Monitor evolving regulations and standards that impact your area of responsibility, ensuring all design activities remain compliant.
  • Leverage available resources to continuously build technical expertise and practical experience, while enhancing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engage proactively with senior colleagues and management, contributing ideas that drive operational excellence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Four‑year degree in Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience in the aviation industry, or 2 years of experience without a degree.
  • Current Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent licensure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with technical documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data, perform data‑driven decision making, and develop clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated attitude, adaptability, and willingness to take on new responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), or specialized aircraft maintenance credentials.
  • Experience with design software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) or maintenance management systems.
  • Prior experience leading remote or distributed engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing or improving design manuals and procedural documentation.
