Position Overview – Senior Data Analyst (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analyst to join its dynamic Data & Analytics team. This role is ideal for an entry‑level professional who has already demonstrated a solid foundation in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, and business intelligence (BI) reporting. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including data scientists, BI engineers, platform architects, and business stakeholders—to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that power arenaflex’s Healthcare Quality Improvement program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and orchestrate multi‑layered data sets and pipelines that support analytics and reporting initiatives across arenaflex’s health services.
  • ETL/ELT Management: Own long‑term and ad‑hoc ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance for both operational and analytical workloads.
  • Data Modeling & Architecture: Create and maintain logical and physical data models that feed into reporting tables, supporting business intelligence dashboards and predictive analytics.
  • Data Integration: Apply best‑practice data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques to integrate large data sets from internal arenaflex production systems and external sources.
  • Data Profiling & Validation: Conduct thorough data profiling, cleansing, and validation across internal production platforms, data lakes, and standardized healthcare data collections (e.g., claims, pharmacy transactions, HEDIS, ECDS).
  • Automation & Tooling: Build internal tools to automate data handling, quality assurance, and data approval processes, reducing manual effort and increasing reliability.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with business analysts, product owners, and external partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver actionable insights.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune SQL‑based ETL/ELT scripts for efficiency, leveraging platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • BI Enablement: Support the rollout of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) by providing clean, well‑documented data sources and assisting with semantic layer enhancements.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel up to 5 % of the time for on‑site meetings, workshops, or industry conferences (domestic travel only).

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience developing and maintaining data pipelines in a financial services or healthcare environment.
  • Proven expertise in writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL‑based ETL/ELT scripts.
  • Experience with cloud‑based data integration services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
