The Opportunity: Remote Lead Data Analyst (Part-Time, $30/Hour)

arenaflex is hiring a Remote Lead Data Analyst to join our dynamic Business Operations team, working remotely from anywhere in the United States with a preference for candidates based in California. In this role, you will be the analytical engine behind business performance reporting, working closely with cross-functional partners to transform raw data into actionable insights. You will lead the design and implementation of reporting strategies, mentor fellow analysts, and serve as the subject-matter expert for business intelligence tools across our streaming platforms.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

• Business Performance Reporting and Visualization: Serve as the primary analytics partner for cross-functional stakeholders, helping them understand platform performance. When metrics trend ahead or behind expectations, dive deep to deliver meaningful, actionable insights that enable the business to course-correct or capitalize on wins.
• Reporting and Tooling Strategy: Lead the team in creating standardized, impactful metrics and reports across all streaming platforms. Champion consistency in definitions, calculations, and visualizations to ensure stakeholders receive trusted, reliable data.
• Business Intelligence Implementation: Drive reporting initiatives for large-scale data environments. Act as a senior advisor to analysts on the team, partnering with Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams to design and build performant ETLs, mediator tables, and elegant, fast-loading dashboards in Tableau and Looker.
• Single Source of Truth Creation: Collaborate with our Governance team to align analysts and stakeholders from across the organization on standardized metrics that measure product performance. Build consensus and drive adoption of unified definitions.
• ETL and Metric Design: Own metric design and production end-to-end—from defining business requirements to structural design, development, and ensuring long-term data scalability.
• Partnership and Communication: Work closely with business partners to deeply understand their decision-making needs. Partner with other data teams to continuously improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing, visualization, and architecture.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Guide a team of analysts, providing technical direction, career coaching, and thought leadership on best practices in analytics engineering and business intelligence.

What We’re Looking For: Essential Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Proven ability to build data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or comparable platforms.
• 4+ years of analytical experience, with a strong preference for candidates with specific expertise in analytics engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, with bonus points for experience in SparkSQL, Hive, or similar query languages.
• Extensive hands-on experience with OLAP databases such as Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent data warehouse solutions.
• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining advanced tables for reporting through ETLs.
• Solid background in project and resource management, including the ability to define objectives, manage timelines, and coordinate work across multiple stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Python, R, or other statistical programming languages.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences.
