Principal Power BI Developer

job summary: We are seeking a visionary Power BI Developer & Solution Architect to strengthen and scale our end-to-end data architecture within the Digital Quality space. Operating within a GxP-regulated Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) environment, you will be the driving force behind a scalable, governed, and insight-driven Power BI ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex data engineering and strategic business intelligence-guiding the design for data ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, governance, and enterprise-grade visualization. location: Telecommute job type: Contract salary: $85 - 90 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities:

• Evaluate and enhance current Power BI architectures, overseeing data ingestion, transformation (Power Query/Dataflows/Fabric), and enterprise modeling layers.
• Provide technical leadership on seamless integrations with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and modern cloud data platforms.
• Define future-state reference architecture blueprints and establish best-practice playbooks for semantic models, dataset reuse, and gold-layer datasets.
• Build robust data pipelines migrating data from core enterprise systems like TrackWise, SAP, and Documentum.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, interactive Power BI dashboards that drive critical Quality Management insights.
• Establish secure architectural patterns that empower business teams with self-service analytics while maintaining absolute data integrity.
• Advise on governance, scalability, performance, and security considerations tailored specifically to a validated, GxP-regulated environment.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional developers and business leadership to align technical architecture with our broader Digital Quality strategy.

qualifications: 8+ years of progressive experience in data and analytics architecture. 3+ years of dedicated experience in Power BI enterprise architecture roles. Expert-Level Mastery of the Microsoft Power BI stack, including advanced semantic models, dataflows, and the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. Proven Track Record of assessing current-state architectures and successfully implementing optimized, scalable future-state blueprints. Strong grasp of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity principles as they apply to analytical solutions. Proven ability to translate complex, high-level business requirements into technical, governed analytics structures. Exceptional documentation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
