Freelance Immigration Case Manager / Paralegal

About the Role

QX Immigration is seeking experienced freelance Case Managers / Paralegals to provide immigration case management and paralegal support on a per-case or per-project basis. This is an independent contractor engagement you retain full discretion over how, when, and where you perform your work, subject to agreed deliverables, deadlines, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assignment, you may be engaged to Conduct case intake review and organize supporting documents Prepare immigration forms and supporting exhibits under attorney supervision Draft support letters, indices, and filing-ready packets Communicate with clients regarding document collection and procedural updates Maintain internal case tracking and status updates Coordinate filings and handle post-filing follow-up Specific deliverables, fees, and timelines are defined for each individual project or case assignment. Professional Standards & Working Norms These guidelines set shared expectations around outcomes and communication and are not intended to control how work is performed. Platforms Use the firm’s designated systems (currently ClickUp and Docketwise) to manage assigned matters, update statuses, and maintain clear case visibility. Responsiveness Respond to internal and case-related communications within a reasonable timeframe, generally within one business day, and promptly flag urgent matters. Availability If unavailable for more than 48 hours, provide advance notice when possible and ensure appropriate coverage or updates to maintain case continuity. Quality Perform services professionally and accurately in line with firm templates, checklists, and attorney guidance, and promptly address reasonable revisions. Confidentiality & Security Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information and use secure systems and password protection. Attorney Oversight Case Managers and Paralegals do not provide legal advice. All work is performed under attorney supervision where required.

Qualifications

Required Demonstrated experience in U.S. immigration case management or paralegal support Familiarity with immigration forms, exhibit preparation, and filing-ready packet assembly Strong written communication skills and a client-service orientation Comfort working independently, managing deadlines, and tracking multiple cases Reliable access to secure systems and the ability to meet data security and confidentiality obligations Independent contractor status, with responsibility for own taxes, insurance, licenses, and business expenses Preferred Hands-on experience with ClickUp, Docketwise, or comparable case-management platforms Experience drafting support letters and indices Interest in (or experience with) AI tools and workflow automation for legal support A track record of consistent responsiveness and high-quality, attorney-reviewed work product How to Apply Interested contractors should submit a current resume and a brief summary of relevant immigration case management experience, along with availability and any platform experience (ClickUp, Docketwise, etc.).
