[Remote] Legal Intern
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Prosperity Life is a growing life insurance and annuity company seeking a Legal Intern to support their Legal Department. The intern will assist attorneys with research, drafting legal documents, and compliance-related projects while gaining practical in-house legal experience within the insurance and financial services industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues related to insurance law, corporate law, and financial services regulation
- Assist attorneys with the review, drafting, and organization of contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and other legal documents
- Support state insurance regulatory research and tracking of legislative and regulatory developments
- Review and summarize statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance, and case law affecting the life insurance and annuity industry
- Assist with compliance-related projects and internal policy reviews
- Attend legal department meetings and collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization
- Perform other legal and administrative tasks as assigned
Skills
- Completion of first year (1L) at an accredited law school
- Strong academic performance
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in insurance, financial services, corporate law, securities, compliance, or regulatory law
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis
