Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our growing team. The Senior Cloud Engineer plays a key role within the Cloud Hosting Services team, responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions—primarily in Microsoft Azure, but also involving other cloud platforms as needed. The candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with cloud architecture, automation, DevOps, governance, and operational excellence. How You Will Contribute: Lead the design and deployment of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure and other cloud platforms. Manage full lifecycle cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, testing, and optimization of workloads moving to Azure. Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure that aligns with best practices for performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency. Design and manage CI/CD pipelines; automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform or Bicep. Evaluate emerging technologies and tools; contribute to the development of the enterprise cloud roadmap by aligning solutions with business objectives. Define and enforce cloud security and governance frameworks, including RBAC, IAM, policy compliance, and industry standards. Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, high-level designs (HLDs), and KB articles. Drive disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategy using Azure Site Recovery and Backup Conduct cost analysis, budgeting, and optimization of cloud spend using tools like Azure Cost Management and Advisor. Collaborate with operations and support teams to ensure seamless service transitions; provide knowledge transfer, runbooks, and training sessions. Skills and Experience to be Successful: 10 + years’ experience in system including 5+ years in cloud engineering and infrastructure roles. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python. Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Bicep, or Azure DevOps. Solid understanding of Azure Infrastructure Service, cloud security, networking, IAM, and governance Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools Experience with monitoring and alerting frameworks Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
